Electronic information system for use in Chinese Elevator, comprising:

input means capable of receiving input from a passenger of said elevator system, and generating signals in response to said input;

data storage means having data relating to the location of a plurality of entities stored therein;

means for network interface operatively connected to said at least one input means such that data present on a network may be retrieved via said at least one means for network interface;

processor means, operatively connected to said at least one input means, said means for network interface, and said data storage means, said processor means receiving said signals from said at input means, accessing said data storage means or said network based on said signals.

And retrieving selected portions of said data therefrom; andmeans for transferring data, operatively connected to said processor, capable of transferring said retrieved data to a personal electronic means.
