Choosing an elevator supplier for a UAE project involves both equipment selection and delivery of a locally workable installation. Identify the manufacturer, contracting seller, importer, installer and maintenance provider before comparing prices. These may be different organisations, and their responsibilities should be clear in the proposal.
Define the building and the jurisdiction
Provide the emirate, project location, building use, served floors, travel, occupancy and available drawings. Ask the project consultant to identify the approving authorities, applicable requirements and required submissions. Do not assume that a requirement or approval from one project automatically covers every project across the UAE.
Check the supplier’s identity and relevant experience
- Confirm the exact legal entity named on the quotation and contract.
- Identify the factory and the manufacturer of the offered equipment.
- If buying through a distributor, verify the relationship and offered scope.
- Request comparable references and clarify the supplier’s role in each.
- Ask who will coordinate engineering documents, installation and handover locally.
A trade-show appearance is useful evidence of market engagement, but it does not establish a local office, installation licence or maintenance network. FUJIHD’s published Dubai Elevator Expo report can support a company discussion; buyers should verify the actual proposed project team separately.
Compare technical proposals on one schedule
List rated load, clear cabin dimensions, door opening, speed, travel, stops and control requirements. Request shaft, pit and overhead dimensions on coordinated drawings. Check accessibility, fire-related interfaces and other authority or consultant requirements against the offered configuration.
Require each supplier to state deviations and exclusions. A general product certificate should be checked for issuer, model, scope and relevance to the actual approval process.
Review environmental and operating conditions
Tell the supplier whether any equipment areas are exposed to heat, dust, moisture or coastal conditions. Ask for the permissible equipment environment and the building provisions required to achieve it. Do not treat outdoor suitability as implicit in a standard indoor product description.
Make local service responsibilities explicit
Confirm installation supervision, inspection coordination, commissioning, maintenance and fault-response arrangements. Request the provider’s details, geographic coverage, service hours and spare-parts plan. Evaluate lifecycle cost using equipment, construction interfaces and service terms together.
Requesting a FUJIHD proposal
FUJIHD is a manufacturer based in China. Review the FUJI elevator manufacturer guide and the product range, then send the project brief through the enquiry page. Ask for a written equipment offer and a responsibility schedule covering the work needed in the UAE.
What should decide the shortlist? Use documented technical suitability, comparable experience, clear commercial scope and a credible local delivery plan. Brand familiarity alone cannot answer these project-specific questions.
